New Scam Alert! 🚨A caller ID spoofing scam is currently circulating.
Three days ago, a resident of Wilmot Township received a phone call from a man claiming to be a police officer. The scammer used a spoofing tool to display the WRPS non-emergency number (519-570-9777) on the victim’s caller ID.
The scammer told the victim that their bank account was involved in criminal activity and would be frozen if they hung up.
