Scammers have used the shelter’s phone number to demand thousands of dollars for an “emergency surgery” and then hung up when questioned. The shelter never calls to ask for money or performs emergency surgeries.
They use phone calls to create panic and pressure victims into falling for their scam. Everyone, stay cautious and don’t get deceived.
